HEAT · TENSION · BLISS · Last weekend of July 2026

The fire, the space between, and the opening.

One body learning to hold all three. This is the shoot.

The Vision

Three movements. One body, learning to hold them.

This is the shoot the whole year has been building toward. Heat opens you. Tension holds you in the charged middle. Bliss brings you home. We are staging it as one image.

A body held under the charge of the fire, skin lit warm against deep shadow.

I · Heat

The body under pressure tells the truth.

Heat is the edge. The charge. The place where pain and pleasure stop being opposites. What is left is real. That is the whole point.

Rope pulled taut across a held body, two forces meeting in the charged middle.

II · Tension

The space between want and restraint.

This is where the alchemy lives. Control and surrender pulling against each other, neither one winning. The rope holds you in the middle and asks you to stay. The pulling teaches the yielding.

A face and open chest softened in warm gold light, the body at rest after release.

III · Bliss

The open heart, the return.

Then the release. Joy that has weight because you earned it in flame. Rest that feels like the ocean rolling over your feet. You come home to yourself, whole. Bound into freedom, where history tried to put fear.

The Opening

The rest that follows.

The Thread

One book. One practice. Made visible.

Heat, tension, bliss are the three lenses of the practice and the spine of the book. This shoot is the philosophy made flesh, in one afternoon, through one lens.

The space between want and restraint is where alchemy lives.

In Motion

The work, moving.

Mood and direction now. Real footage lands after the shoot.

Mood still: a red-lit hand raised in shadow.
Mood still: two faces close in low light.
Mood still: a coil of jute rope.
Mood still: a hand reaching toward window light.
Mood still: a figure in warm red light.
Mood still: a taut arm in black and white.
Mood still: a back turned to warm light.

Step Into the Frame

This one needs you in it.

Who it's for

You do not need experience. You need curiosity and a grounded yes. Models, riggers, collaborators, volunteers, witnesses. Every body, with Black embodiment held at the center.

What it will be

One full day, early morning to last light. Consent first, always. Slow, cared for, nothing you did not agree to. We build the frame together. You are here to co-create, not to be watched.

Good to know before you apply: this one happens on a nude beach, out in the open air, on the last weekend of July into the first days of August. It photographs faces, not just bodies, so plan accordingly. The palette is white: white fabric against skin and sand. If being seen fully is a yes for you, this might be your shoot. If you are not sure, that is exactly what your consultation is for. We talk through all of it before you commit to anything.

Before You Ask

The questions people actually have.

Do I need experience?

No. You need curiosity and a grounded yes. We teach you everything on the day.

Where does the shoot happen?

On a nude beach, out in the open air. Come ready to be skyclad in a natural setting. If that is new for you, it can be part of what the day opens up.

When is it?

The last weekend of July, spilling into the first days of August 2026. Hold the dates when you apply, and we confirm the exact day with everyone we cast.

Do I have to be nude?

Yes. This is a nude shoot on a nude beach. How you are posed and how far you go still sits with you, and we set those limits together in your consultation before anything happens.

Will my face be in the photos?

Yes. This shoot photographs faces, not just bodies, so plan accordingly. If being seen fully is a yes for you, this might be your shoot. If you are unsure, we talk it all through in your consultation before you commit to anything.

Who gets to be in front of the camera?

Every body. We center Black embodiment and a wide range of bodies. Models, riggers, collaborators, and witnesses all have a place.

Is it safe?

Consent first, always. We negotiate before, check in during, and care for you after. You can stop at any moment, and you do not owe anyone a reason.

What should I wear or bring?

The shoot palette is white. Think white fabric, white against skin, sea, and sand. Once you are cast we send a short styling note so everyone shows up on the same page.

How much time will it take?

Plan for the whole day. We start in early morning light and shoot until the last light of the evening. We move slow and unhurried, so come ready to be there for all of it.

What happens to the photos?

They go into the C4 Suspension gallery exhibit at the end of the year. The model release form lays out exactly how your images are used, and we walk through it together before you sign anything. You also get access to the raws and the edited photos as they become available.

How do I get involved?

Fill out the model application. If you want to work behind the camera, use the collaboration form. Either way, we follow up with a consultation to talk everything through before anyone commits.

Before the Fire

We have not lit it yet. That is the invitation. Come stand close while it is still just an idea, and help it become an image. The fire is warmer when we build it together.

Charge. Hold. Release into joy.

Ashe.
